Mountain View has a beautiful pedestrian friendly downtown! You can find casual and fine dining versions for a variety of cuisines. It’s a pleasant neighborhood with some good bars, dessert places and some chic stores - Therapy being one of my favorites :) We took such an instant liking to this area, a trip to the Silicon Valley is never complete without and M and I strolling down Castro Street!
On one such walk, we discovered Pho Garden. Pho (pronounced fuh) is a Viatnamese clear soup with a galaxy of ingredients mixed in. You can find a Pho place in every nook and corner of the Bay Area!
The vegetarian Pho Noodle Soup is a giant bowl of steaming hot goodness served with a side of bean sprouts, fresh basil leaves jalapeno rings, you have to enjoy the soup with these toppings :) But minutes later and after a quick look at the nearby table, our “giant” bowl shrunk in size. The MASSIVE “challenge bowl” is apparently the popular 10 pound challenge in Pho Garden…phew!! Their ginger dressing along with the green papaya salad are one of the best I’ve tasted.
